Russ Bierschbach
Director of Information Systems

Mr. Bierschbach has over 15 years experience in software development and 10 years experience in the telecommunications industry He joined Excel as Director of Information Systems in 2006, leading the design and implementation of Excel’s ION system which consolidated five billing systems, three customer care systems and two provisioning systems enabling Excel to scale its business more rapidly, increase the capacity utilization of its network, and reduce its annual maintenance, support and licensing expenses. Mr. Bierschbach was also responsible for the development of Excel’s least cost routing and network monitoring systems which reduce Excel’s variable line costs and enable Excel to react quickly to network routing problems.

Prior to joining Excel, Mr. Bierschbach was Director of Software Development at Simplified Development and NetworkIP where he was integral in the design and development of one of the largest prepaid calling card platforms in the world and the first implementation of the Nortel’s Programmable Service Node interface.
