Site Supervisor, Network Operations (Los Angeles, CA)
Position Summary:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervises all day-to-day operations of assigned switch site to ensure reliability, safety and compliance.
- Ensures that assigned personnel are adequately trained.
- Provides performance evaluations on all assigned staff.
- Plans, organizes and directs all operations regarding installation support, service, moves, adds and changes.
- Oversees the maintenance of inventories of hardware and database service information including facilities assignments and configurations data.
- Reviews all locations and processes for compliance with quality and cost control objectives.
- Compiles and publishes project and weekly activity summary reports.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with LECs, vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensures "on call" and "time off" listings are current.
- Provides recommendations for national field operations quality assurance standards.
- Field engineering duties as required to support network integration.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent training/experience.
- 8-10 years of network or related field experience in Switch Services including lead experience.
- Expert understanding of telephone networks and call processing functions.
- In-depth knowledge of central office systems and facilities, including TDM switch, transport/transmission systems, digital cross-connects, IP router/switch, AC and DC power systems, fire suppression, alarm and HVAC systems.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with IP Telephony systems (soft switch, media gateway, routers).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of PCs and technical and administrative software applications.
